Greetings and Salutations to you all!
I have been having too much fun with this blogging business with all the different ways my brain is functioning trying to figure out how to be “successful” and getting to know some of my fellow bloggers.
Every once in a while I see someone write about being nominated for this award or that award and I find those posts to be very fun and informative. I find myself hoping to get nominated because I love talking about myself so much. It feels strange to say that, but would I even be blogging if I didn’t? Anyway, I wanted to see if I could successfully start a new blogging award. As far as I know it’s not something that is frowned upon and I don’t know of any committee that this idea needs to be vetted through so I am just going to go for it. It is called the Just For Fun Blogging Award!
I know that some people are “award free” on their blogs and that is just fine with me! I just wanted the experience of making a badge, passing it around to my blogger friends and seeing if it lived or died out there in the blogging world. I’ve never done anything like this before, so forgive me if this launch comes off clunky.
I am not going to nominate anyone specific today (in other words, I am nominating you all!). I just want to shoot this out and get as many participants as possible. Then you can follow the directions and send them off to anyone you would like. I have no specific numbers of how many people you should engage. However, I will say:
- The questions generated should just be silly and fun.
- Invite any one you want to participate, but really think of those people that you find have a great sense of humor and are willing to just play along for a few minutes.
- Please link back to this page (ping me) if you participate so that I can try to see who is giving this a go and to see how far it reaches. I have no problem with this being re-blogged, if that’s how you would like to share.
- This is just for fun and is just a way to get people to know each other better! Seriously, that’s it. Just have some fun with it, please!
- No is a perfectly acceptable answer for me and everyone else. If you think this award is dumb, then more power to you–I hope you have a wonderful day doing whatever floats your boat.
I think I have everything written out in a way that I like. Copy and paste the badge as many times as you need to. I have it on my page already and I think it’s cute.
Just now I am realizing that by starting this whole thing, I am not going to really get any nominations to play and I already said that I like talking about myself. So, I’m going to start us off with sample questions and a couple of my own answers:
Can you name one bad habit, of other people, that drives you crazy? Why does it bother you so much?
If you had to eat a rat how would you prepare it?
What was your favorite musical group in Junior High?
What was the greatest invention of your lifetime? Why do you think that?
What movie title would describe your life?
Who would you name the worst actor/actress in Hollywood and why?
Do you still sleep with a teddy bear?
What is your go to song to sing in the shower? Lifestyles of the Rich and the Famous by Good Charlotte. I can really get my groove on with that song. (Of course I never sing when anyone else is in the house.)
Can you fake any accents?
Who is your celebrity crush? Darren Criss from Glee. (He’s only 16 years younger than me. It’s okay to dream.)
What cinematic guilty pleasure do you hide from everyone? None really. I think it would be kind of cringe-worthy for people to know how many times a week I watch Glee episodes, but it’s not a deep dark secret.
What makes you feel young?
What was the first concert you ever attended?
If you are reading a book and it is really terrible do you continue reading to the end, hoping that it gets better, or do you dump it right then and there? (I always ask this of all my prey.) I hang on ’til the end. Don’t know if that’s a character flaw or not!

a funny thing happened when I was learning myself 
I am drawn to this because I do have a funny side, but it isn’t highlighted on my blog, so this would allow readers to see another side of me:-). I’ll put it in the que.

This may be obvious but do you answer the nominaters questions and then make new ones for your nominees to answer or do you just keep having people answer your original set of questions?

The awards that I have seen ask you to answer the questions asked and then come up with your own for the next group of people.
