After many years of saying I was going to write, I created this blog to keep a record of my thoughts and, hopefully, become a catalyst for turning my many thoughts into a funny book. I like to observe things (and overthink things), and this is a good place for me to purge my wayward thoughts into small, tasty bites. I hope people read my stories, relate to my life and find humor in the craziness. I wish to make new friends and I hope to turn this venture into something fun, funny, and tangible.
WHO AM I? Well, I am a 50 year old woman with the personality of a 16 year old girl. I have delusions of grandeur and I am completely convinced that there are people out there who actually what to hear what I have to say (even though I’m still not convinced that I want to hear what I have to say).
My default mode is usually in the negative and I have to work hard to pull myself into the happiness of life. Hence my handle on WordPress, Twitter, Tumblr, etc. is @whereshappy. I am always looking to find the good in things and the Zen in life even when I’m usually very impatient and frustrated that things aren’t always going my way. I talk A LOT and love to laugh and joke and make fun of my friends. It’s pretty much a given that if I like you, I make fun of you. Take it or leave it (please take it)! (Oh yeah, I also use parentheses a lot. Makes me feel like Mr. Subliminal.)
Okay, so I’ve admitted to being a bit wacky, but why have I started blogging? Well, the short answer is: because I finally got tired of watching life pass me by without actually reaching one of my biggest goals—to write a book. After watching friends reach their writing goals, I realized that it might be possible for me to get over my fears and get my own brain down in book form. It will be a series of life vignettes that, hopefully, make people laugh–and I give you all permission to laugh. I think I would be hurt if you didn’t. My blog is like the world’s most public rough draft. I want to get feedback, I want to feel that my words are valid, and I want to cultivate an audience. (And you thought you were just reading for fun.)
Thanks for joining me on this journey!
MOTTO: Why say something in two sentences when I can say it in two paragraphs?

Hi, I found your blog through Opinionated Man and wanted to pop over to say hey. You sound funny and the fact that you like to make fun of your friends is appealing because that means you don’t take things so seriously, you like having fun. I can’t wait to read your posts. ~Steph

I don’t think they could have possibly gone any more opposite of Kathleen Turner hair, for sure!!!! I still get perms once in a while but I am very, very vocal about how I expect to look when I’m done!

[…] A Funny thing happened when I was learning myself: This Children’s librarian do seem to take herself too seriously. She describes herself as having a personality of a 16 yr old. She writes about her life experience and makes fun of herself along the way. I mostly like the humorous take on her perspectives, which makes for engaging reading. […]

Our world is so full of hearts which need a little solace, a smile and a good reason to laugh. I am very glad that you have this wonderful capability. I hope that many people would discover you and enjoy reading your posts and book.
I really enjoyed reading your introduction. I honestly think that your introduction is one of the best I have seen so far and I have been to more than hundred websites in last three days. You have comic sense and wit.
I giggled when you said that you drive your son crazy! Poor kid who has got such a mom. Usually it’s other way around 🙂 Hahaha 🙂
I would love to keep visiting your blog again and again since I like witty people. Your blog has a wonderful theme–gives a great feeling of serenity. Layout is wonderful. Keep it up. I wish you enjoy interacting with other bloggers too. Enjoy 101, blogging and life 🙂

Awesome sauce! We are kindred spirits. I have a fondness for ellipses myself… haha! I love a good humor writer. I am sure you will find a bunch of random blather bullshit on my blog, as I have no designs other than amusing myself on the regular. I do thoroughly enjoy laughing my ass off manically at every possible opportunity however, and it appears as though your blog will give me plenty of opportunities to do so!! Thanks! 😉 Melanie
