Hello to all of you, my wonderful friends. I am trying a couple of things out today. I wanted to try putting a poll into a post and I wanted to make this post interactive. When I first started blogging I made a list of about thirty titles that I wanted to write toward. Little did I know that writing doesn’t work that way for me! But I went through the list last night and there are still quite a few subjects that I would like to tackle–and I would love you all to help me pick out which one I should do first. So, please, lend me three minutes of your time and let me know what trouble I should get into next! Thank you. (Continue on to my page to vote.)

Well, I chose “Grits and Government Cheese” first because it sounds like a title already. Also, as a Southern girl, it just spoke to me. It seems like it might be a story about trying to make something a little better out of what you have, even if it’s government cheese. The image that immediately came to mind was the geraniums that Mayella Ewell planted outside her house in To Kill a Mockingbird. She had an awful life, but knew that something better was out there, even if she couldn’t really understand it.

Thank you for voting. It looks like this isn’t going to be the story I write right now, but I promise to visit it in the near future. You definitely got the gist of what it will be about.

Thank you for wanting to be a part of that process! We’ll see how it goes–I might veto you all (but not really. Maybe.)!
