Hello my friends!
I am just barely getting back on track after my holiday and I am knee deep in all kinds of writing activities! I am currently recalling my vacation to Hawaii over Christmas and I am surprised on how detailed I seem to have remembered things. I’m actually quite grateful to have the time to look back and reflect because I am beginning to really understand how special that time really was–priceless moments as The Magic Three.
I’m not sure if I told everyone that I did get approved to teach about blogging at my library’s annual Tech Fest for employees and I am putting together a 45 minute overview and a two hour in-depth class where I lead my co-workers through the steps to creating their own blog. I have learned so much from all of you and I am very excited to be able to share everything you have shown me!
I’ve decided to try to put my stories together into a book this year and I was aiming for March, but I find myself afraid to let an editor get a hold of my stuff. I am currently shopping for that editor but I really don’t feel good about letting that person get their hands on my vision. I am going to have to get over that but soon. Has anyone had experience with this before? Could you give me a heads up on what might be waiting for me out there?
As if that isn’t enough to do, I applied and got accepted to be a staff writer for PopWrapped.com. It’s a pop culture website that is run by a bunch of people who love to write, are really into their subjects and are looking to share their interests. I have been writing for a month now and I still can’t meet my five stories a week quota, but I am trying me very best! I have written about Dick Van Dyke’s birthday, the new A&E show Fit to Fat to Fit, Alex Newell’s debut album and the Playboy Mansion–to name a few. If you have any interest in checking that out then I strongly encourage you to give it a shot. It is a really souped-up blog and I really enjoy it, even though I don’t know nearly enough about SEO’s and getting photos and such…
Anyway, I wouldn’t have been brought on board to PopWrapped.com if I didn’t have actual samples of writing to present during the application process. I led them to my blog and within a week I was knee deep in all things pop culture related. Your comments and support have really helped me move forward in a big way these last six months and I really, really appreciate it. I am going to try to dedicate myself to checking in every day to read what you all are putting out. I am sorry to have been so neglectful so far but it’s not because I’m not enjoying what you write, it’s just that I am so busy.
I hope that everything is working out well for all of you and I look forward to your comments!

Best of luck – and don’t forget to schedule time to “fill the well”.

Thank you. It’s kind of hard to fit that in, but it’s definitely a priority!

Thank you. It’s really hard to get the desire to write sometimes and then I really feel guilty! I’m trying to keep it fun, though. Hope all is well.

I want a nap too! I am having a lot of fun but sometimes it’s really hard to get inspired. I’ve got some good pressure on me right now. Hope everything is going great with you.
